Reading God’s Word: Daniel 3, Psalm 80

Memorizing God’s Word: 1 John 4:11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

Meditating on God’s Word: Daniel 3:16-18, “Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, ‘King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

Praying God’s Word: “O Lord, we praise You for this great example of faith! Teach us to pray like these three men. Would we have the faith to believe in the God who is ABLE to deliver us! Would we have confidence to pray to a God who WILL deliver us! And would we have to humility and grit to know that EVEN IF YOU DON’T deliver us, we can still serve You gladly each and every day! So we don’t need to defend ourselves today, or any day, because You, the One who is willing, the One who is able, You Yourself go before us! And You already went before us into the fiery furnace of the cross. And so we submit ourselves again to Your capable and loving hands. Amen.”
