God repeatedly challenges us to trust Him with our finances, promising that when we give Him our first and best, He will bless the rest.
Why We Give
Exodus 34:26a says “Bring the best of the firstfruits of your soil to the house of the Lord your God.” and Proverbs 3:9-10, 2 Chronicles 31:5,and Leviticus 27:30 all give us an understanding of how God wants us to trust Him. All that we have belongs to God (Psalm 24:1) and returning to Him a tithe — literally “a tenth” — is one way that we demonstrate He is first in our lives. In return, He promises to bless us.
If you are a Christ follower who does not attend Church of the Open Door but has been blessed by our ministry and feels led to give above your normal tithe, we are very thankful for your gift.
How Open Door Uses Your Tithes and Offerings
We serve our community and others because Jesus served. And we are blessed by God so that we can be a blessing to others. It’s not just in what we say, but what we do, how we live, and how we give. Your tithes and offerings are an act of worship and are one way of exercising your faith in God and your love for others.
Your partnering with us through giving enables us to send kids to camp, feeds the hungry, keeps the electricity and heat running, while propelling our mission of “Leading People in the Adventure of Becoming Like Christ” and supports mission teams around the world.
