Reading God’s Word: Luke 1, Proverbs 13
Memorizing God’s Word: Luke 4:18-19, The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.
Meditating on God’s Word: Luke 1:19, I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news. And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their proper time.
Praying God’s Word: “Lord, imagine the silence in our lives, (and those around us), if that were the consequence every time, we did not believe your words. Would I be silenced today, tomorrow, or perhaps every day? Where am I falling short, in my unwavering trust in you and your promises? I know what I want, but I do not always do what I want. With a surrendered heart I humbly pray, ‘I believe, help me overcome my unbelief!’ (Mark 9:24)Amen.”
