Reading God’s Word: 1 Chronicles 25-26; Psalm 49

Memorizing God’s Word: Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Meditating on God’s Word: Psalm 49:16-17 (ESV)Be not afraid when a man becomes rich, when the glory of his house increases for when he dies he will carry nothing away; his glory will not go down after him.

Praying God’s Word: “Father, it is too often the case we place importance on those things that have no eternal value. It is easy to become envious of those who have more than us. We tend to place greater significance on those who are wealthy, powerful, or famous. Yet we find in our meditation today that all such distinctions disappear at death. No one carries any of this world’s treasure, popularity, or power to the next world. May we be a people that place our value on that which is eternal. May we not store up treasure on the earth, but instead store up treasure in heaven and work for a reward that is incorruptible, undefiled, and awaiting us there. Amen.”
