Reading God’s Word: John 12:1-11; Psalm 59:11-17
Memorizing God’s Word: John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Meditating on God’s Word: John 12:2-3a, Here a dinner was given in Jesus’ honor. Martha served, while Lazarus was among those reclining at the table with him. Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet
Praying God’s Word “Father, what a moment in this home of 3 faithful and transformed believers. Lazarus honored Jesus for new life spiritually and physically. Mary honored Jesus for His teaching and care. Martha honored Jesus by her quiet serving of others which had been transformed as well. She must have felt a sting at Judas’ ignorant words, reminding her of her own reprimand of Jesus earlier (John 11). May our homes, our campuses, reflect the life change and grace of this Bethany trio, Amen.”
