Reading God’s Word: Ruth 1; Psalm 150

Memorizing God’s Word: Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Meditating on God’s Word: Ruth 1:16 But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.”

Praying God’s Word “What incredible words, Lord. Words filled with faith, love, and sacrifice. And what incredible witness must have gone before them. Ruth had known Naomi for ten years, and had seen in her life something worth leaving everything (family, culture, security, religion) to have. Would people say the same about me? Do I represent Jesus so well, especially in hard times, that others would say, ‘your God will be my God?’ May I be more like Naomi, demonstrating a faith that makes people want what I have. And may I be more like Ruth, willing to give up anything to gain you. Amen.”
