Reading God’s Word: Mark 8:22–26, Psalm 87
Memorizing God’s Word: Mark 8:34, Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
Meditating on God’s Word: Mark 8:25, Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.
Praying God’s Word “Lord, as I consider the greater context of these scriptures, I am reminded of the heart of your ministry: Spending time with those whom others ignored, giving spiritual sight to those blinded by their circumstances and being faithful without counting the cost. If we are going to ‘lead people in the adventure of becoming like Christ,’ then we also need to be like you (Follow Jesus, learn from Jesus, to become like Jesus). Show me today where I fall short. Not in a self-deprecating way, but to be restored and closer to you. Open my eyes so I may clearly see you! Amen.”
