Reading God’s Word: Mark 14:12-31; Psalm 40:8-17

Memorizing God’s Word: Ephesians 3:17b-18 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,

Meditating on God’s Word: Mark 14:27 “You will all fall away,” Jesus told them, “for it is written: “‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’”

Praying God’s Word “Lord Jesus, in quoting Zechariah here, you are pointing to the fact that God was talking about You when He said “Awake, sword, against my shepherd, against the man who is close to me!” (Zech. 13:7) You were also identifying the disciples as the “little ones” who would be scattered and have the hand of God against them.  This whole experience Zechariah describes as a refining and test, but in the end have these followers described that: “They will call on my name and I will answer them; I will say, ‘They are my people,’ and they will say, ‘The Lord is our God.’”  We have all gone astray and abandoned you.  I repent and return and desire to follow you wholeheartedly Lord. In Jesus name, Amen.”
