Reading God’s Word: John 16:7-33; Psalm 89:44-52

Memorizing God’s Word: John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Meditating on God’s Word: Psalm 89:46, “How long, LORD? Will you hide yourself forever? How long will your wrath burn like fire?”

Praying God’s Word “Lord God, as I consider these very honest, very human questions in Your Word, it reminds me both of my great difficulty, and of my great hope. On the one hand, Lord, I am in need! I need to see You, but You are often beyond my vision. I need to hear You, but my ears are stopped up. I long to see Your Kingdom come, but sin and darkness increase. And yet, on the other hand, I am full of hope, because I have seen the answer to this question! You will surely not hide Yourself forever. You came, and You revealed Yourself to us—even to me! And I rejoice today, even in the faint light of dawn, knowing that the day is coming when I will know you fully, just as I am fully known. Amen.”
