Reading God’s Word: 2 Samuel 22:1-23:7; Proverbs 31:1-9
Memorizing God’s Word: Psalm 1:1-2 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.
Meditating on God’s Word: 2 Samuel 22:31 As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.
Praying God’s Word “Lord, forgive us for looking for the top 10 ways to succeed at life. Forgive us for conjuring hacks to heal our hearts. Forgive us for frantically searching for answers to this life and forsaking you…your way. Your way isn’t a piece of the puzzle. Your way is perfection. Nothing else needed. It’s your way plus ZERO. But we are afraid you are not enough. And in our fear, we have crawled into our 401k’s for security. We have climbed into cruise ships and clamored for safety in the promises of our political candidates. Father, today we choose to say you are enough. We choose to say Your Word trumps the words thrown at us from screens and spouses and friends and our feelings. And today, we firmly place ourselves and all our fears inside of you as you have placed your Spirit inside of us. Amen.
