Reading God’s Word: John 12:1-36; Psalm 12
Memorizing God’s Word: John 13:34-35 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
Meditating on God’s Word: John 12:27-28a, “Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!”
Praying God’s Word “Lord, here we read that you were troubled because you knew everything that it would mean for you to go to the cross. And yet, the cross is the very reason that you came to the Earth. It wasn’t an add-on to your ministry. From the beginning, you came to this Earth to take our place in death, so that we could join you in resurrection life. So Jesus, I thank you today for your faithfulness, I admire you today for your courage, and I want to follow you along the same path, not seeking my own comfort and pleasure, but seeking to do the will of my Father in heaven all the days of my life. Amen.”
