Reading God’s Word: John 6:1-15; Psalm 43

Memorizing God’s Word: John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Meditating on God’s Word: John 6:15, “Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and make him king by force, withdrew again to a mountain by himself.”

Praying God’s Word: “Lord Jesus, here in this verse we find yet another example of how You humbled Yourself. Even though You were King, You left the throne of Heaven to be born in humility. And even though You were the anointed King of kings as You walked this Earth, You did not allow the people to make You the kind of king they wanted. You were committed to Your mission, not theirs, and so You endured their rejection. Help me to learn this same humility and commitment in the task You have set before me today! Amen.”
