Reading God’s Word: Matthew 13:53-15:39; Psalm 137
Memorizing God’s Word: Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Meditating on God’s Word: Matthew 15:8-9 These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.
Praying God’s Word: “Lord, forgive me for the times I merely honor you with my lips, while my heart is somewhere else. I say the words, but my heart isn’t in it. I get distracted and my heart gets pulled toward something else. You said where my treasure is, there my heart will be also. So help me to treasure you, not trivialize you. Help me to obey out of love not just following the rules. I want to worship you in spirit and in truth. Amen.”
