Reading God’s Word: Zephaniah 1; Psalm 116
Memorizing God’s Word: 2 Corinthians 9:6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.
Meditating on God’s Word: Zephaniah 1:18; Psalm 116:1 Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to save them on the day of the Lord’s wrath… I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy.
Praying God’s Word: “Lord, today is the National Day of Prayer, and in your providence, you lead us to Zephaniah 1 and Psalm 116. Justice and mercy intertwined in one glimpse, in one God. You are not just love, but holy. A kind of holy that destroys sin from its presence, and a kind of love that welcomes the sinner through Jesus. In the cross we see the perfect love and justice of God meet in complete satisfaction. And in that cross is the hope for our nation. Oh God, hear our cry for mercy! Turn our sin into repentance, and through the blood of Jesus, heal our land. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
