Memorizing God’s Word: John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Meditating on God’s Word: John 7:46 (LSB) The officers answered, “Never has a man spoken like this!”

Praying God’s Word: “Father, when the religious leaders sent some officers to arrest Christ, they returned empty handed. When asked why, their response was one of astonishment at the teachings of Jesus. Even Christ’s enemies recognized that He was different than other teachers. Only those who had hardened their hearts failed to recognize the gracious words that came out of His mouth and the authority with which he spoke (Matt 7:28–29). May we never get used to Your word, but may we always come away from reading it with a sense of astonishment at what it says to us! Amen.”
