Reading God’s Word:  2 Kings 19-20; Psalm 29

Memorizing God’s Word:  Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Meditating on God’s Word:  2 Kings 19:14-15 Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it. Then he went up to the temple of the Lord and spread it out before the Lord. And Hezekiah prayed to the Lord

Praying God’s Word: “Lord, we read in 2 Kings 19 a message from the Assyrian king to Hezekiah threatening Jerusalem and warning them to surrender or else they would be captured.  Hezekiah responded by turning to you and by placing his faith and trust completely in you.  He acknowledged you as the sovereign King who had always proven trustworthy.  Oh, that, that would be my response when crisis or troubling news is brought before me.  That I would turn directly to you first; not my friends, my spouse, or another person in my life for guidance, but you, Lord.  For you always uphold us and direct our steps.  Amen.”
