Reading God’s Word: Matthew 8-9; Psalm 133
Memorizing God’s Word: Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Meditating on God’s Word: Matthew 9:36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
Praying God’s Word: “Lord Jesus, thank you once again for your loving compassion. It seems that everywhere we turn in the Gospels, we are seeing picture after picture of your compassion for people. They were lost, harassed, helpless, rebellious, each going their own way like sheep without a shepherd. Just like today. All around us people lost, going their own way, desperately needing a shepherd. What do we see when we look at the people all around us? What do we feel? Make us more like Jesus. Amen.”
