Reading God’s Word: 1 Samuel 26-27; Proverbs 17

Memorizing God’s Word: Proverbs 18:21 The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Meditating on God’s Word: Proverbs 17:17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.

Praying God’s Word: “Lord, help me to be a friend like this proverb describes, to love well, to love like you love.  You have taught me to ask the question “what does it look like to love this person well” in the relationships you have given to me; remind me to ask that question often. In the good and the bad, in times of ease and times of adversity, help me to love in other-centered ways. Holy Spirit, breathe in me other-centered love; fill me with your love today. Amen.”
