Reading God’s Word: Mark 16, Proverbs 10
Memorizing God’s Word: Luke 4:18-19, The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.
Meditating on God’s Word: Mark 16:4, But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away.
Praying God’s Word: “Lord, as I read about the moment when it was discovered that Jesus was no longer in the tomb, I am reminded of the many times you have surprised me. Showing up when I did not expect it. Filling me when I was empty. Loving me when I was unlovable. I delight in your surprises and living in anticipation with how you will show up! I have also known times when emptiness remained, and prayers seemingly went unanswered. However, I am reminded that you always show up, but not always in the way I desire. That is ok, keep surprising me. This really is an adventure when I place my trust in you! Amen.”
