Reading God’s Word: 2 Kings 13-14; Psalm 25

Memorizing God’s Word:  Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Meditating on God’s Word:  2 Kings 14:24 He did evil in the eyes of the Lord and did not turn away from any of the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he had caused Israel to commit.

Praying God’s Word: “Lord, we’ve repeatedly read today about kings who were evil.  Who turned away from you and caused whole nations to sin.  They did not learn from the past but instead, continued in idolatry, bringing Israel down with them as well.  These are kings who were walking in the wicked ways of others before them.  As I read this, I wonder, who am I influencing?  Who is observing me and the way I live my life?  What kind of impact am I having on them?  I pray that my walk would bring honor to you and be an example to those who are watching.  Amen.”
