Reading God’s Word: 1 Chronicles 20:1-22:1; Psalm 46
Memorizing God’s Word: Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Meditating on God’s Word: 1 Chronicles 21:24 (ESV)But King David said to Ornan, “No, but I will buy them for the full price. I will not take for the Lord what is yours, nor offer burnt offerings that cost me nothing.”
Praying God’s Word: “Father, in our meditation verse today we find an important principle, and that is our offering to You is something that should cost us something. Too often we want to give You the second best when we should be giving You the best. We want to sacrifice the lamb with the blemish instead of the one without blemish or spot. Forgive us for being “cheap” and giving You our leftovers. Help us to be sacrificial givers, after all, You have given us the most costly gift possible, the gift of Your Son in order to redeem us from our sins. Can we do anything less than give your our best? Amen.”
