Why The Open Door Counseling & Community Center?

Open Door Counseling & Community Center (‘The Center’), founded by Church of the Open Door, was created to respond to the overwhelming need in Lorain County for timely mental health support. After meeting with and listening to residents and partners, it became clear that children, youth, and families across Lorain County needed more accessible, affordable, and coordinated counseling and community resources than the current system can provide. We aim to foster a place of healing and hope, providing licensed counseling and services that is Christ-centered to empower individuals and families to find restoration, purpose, and wholeness.
