Reading God’s Word: 1 Corinthians 16:19-2 Corinthians1:24; Psalm 134

Memorizing God’s Word: 2 Corinthians 9:6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

Meditating on God’s Word: 2 Corinthians 1:3–4 (LSB) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Praying God’s Word: “Father, so many times we question why we face the various trials that come our way in life. Although there is an aspect to our troubles that we may not know this side of eternity, our meditation today gives us one possible reason. That is, when we go through a trial, we can help others who may face the same trial. It is so frustrating to hear someone say “I know what you are going through,” when it is evident they have not. It is something else entirely when they speak from experience. Help us see our trials as examples to others, and help us always be ready to help them navigate the waters of trouble and trials with compassion, as someone who has experienced the same. Amen.”
