Reading God’s Word: Haggai 1-2; Psalm 118
Memorizing God’s Word: 2 Corinthians 9:6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.
Meditating on God’s Word: Haggai 2:4b-5 “Be strong, all you people of the land,” declares the Lord, “and work. For I am with you,” declares the Lord Almighty. “This is what I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt. And my Spirit remains among you. Do not fear.”
Praying God’s Word: “Lord, I can only imagine the discouragements your people faced as they rebuilt the temple. But you spoke to them saying, ‘be strong and work, for I am with you.’ The Lord Almighty was with them! And that is still true today. We don’t build a temple, but we do build your Kingdom. And when we face discouragement in the work, you say to us, ‘Be strong! Work hard, sow generously, rely on my strength, and never fear. For my Spirit is with you.’ May our discouraged hearts hear the word of the Lord Almighty today. Amen.”
