Reading God’s Word: 1 Samuel 24-25; Proverbs 16

Memorizing God’s Word:  Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death. 

Meditating on God’s Word:  1 Samuel 24:5-6Afterward, David was conscience-stricken for having cut off a corner of his (Saul’s) robe. He said to his men, “The Lord forbid that I should do such a thing to my master, the Lord’s anointed, or lay my hand on him; for he is the anointed of the Lord.”   

Praying God’s Word:  Lord, we see in these verses how you used David’s conscience to change David’s plans.  It also shows the respect David had for “the Lord’s anointed.”  Lord, I want to be in a relationship with you, where when you prick my conscience, I believe it is you, respect your guidance, and follow through with what you are trying to point out.  Help me to have faith that you are in control.  Even when in my mind I think I am right, may I listen to what you are telling me.  Amen.
