Reading God’s Word: Mark 15:21-32; Psalm 107:1-22

Memorizing God’s Word: Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Meditating on God’s Word: Psalm 107:19 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.

Praying God’s Word: “Lord, why is it that I continuously wander away from you.  That I let hunger and thirst overtake me, leaving me in a state of depletion before I cry out to you. Break this tendency in me of trying to do things on my own.  Rather, let my initial response be to seek you first and to cling to you BEFORE I find myself lost, wandering aimlessly with no direction.  For it is only you who can guide me out of darkness and lead me on straight paths.  Only you who can truly satisfy my soul and fulfill my deepest needs. Only you who can break away the chains and rescue me from the grave.  Would I wholeheartedly forever give thanks to you for your unfailing love and your wonderful deeds for me.  Amen.”
