Meditating on God’s Word: Acts 19:28; Psalm 109:30 When they heard this, they were furious and began shouting: “Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!” … With my mouth I will greatly extol the Lord; in the great throng of worshipers I will praise him.

Praying God’s Word: Lord Jesus, today we see a choice. It’s the same one we see all through Scripture: worship the great God who created us or worship the gods of our own creation. The shouts of the riotous crowd must have been deafening, just like the shouts of our culture today. We watch our favorite sports and yell, ‘What a great play! What a great player!’ And yet, only One can be truly great! Every idol has an expiration date, but the Lord lasts forever. So we reject these lesser gods! We use our mouths to exalt the only God! And we live for the glory and greatness of Your name, Jesus. Amen.”
