Reading God’s Word: Catch Up Day; Psalm 149

Previewing Ruth: Recap Video

Memorizing God’s Word: Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Meditating on God’s Word: Psalm 149:2, 4 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King… For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.

Praying God’s Word: “God, I’m glad you crown the humble, because I am humbled completely by this sentence: ‘the Lord takes delight in his people.’ My mind argues, ‘That can’t be right. How could you take delight in a sinner like me?’ But what should be impossible is true in the gospel. You don’t just see my sin, you save me from it! You delight in your people because your people are clothed with the righteousness of Christ! ‘Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us.’ (Titus 3:5) What a reason to rejoice in our Maker, and be glad in our King! For in King Jesus we have become the delight of God. And all the glory is yours! Amen.”
