Memorizing God’s Word: Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Meditating on God’s Word: Matthew 10:16 I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.

Praying God’s Word: “Lord, I’ve always been struck by these words; “be as shrewd as snakes and innocent as doves.” The context is witnessing and ministering to people who don’t like us, who are against us and the message of Jesus. So, help us be perceptive, wise and careful in reaching out to lost people, not rash and foolish. But at the same time, keep us free from manipulating or exploiting people. Help us to love those who are lost around us well and to do all we can to reach them with the gospel. Amen.”
