Reading God’s Word: Luke 3:1-20; Psalm 49:1-11

Memorizing God’s Word: Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free”

Meditating on God’s Word: Luke 3:4 “As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.

Praying God’s Word: “Lord, There’s a sense in which we each have a role similar to John the Baptist: “to prepare the way” for you as you come into people’s lives. There are people you have placed in our lives that you want us to prepare the way for them to meet you, by loving them, building relationships with them, and praying for them. Open our eyes to those people all around us and help us prepare the way for your saving work in their life. Amen.”
