Reading God’s Word: 2 Samuel 21; Proverbs 30
Memorizing God’s Word: Psalm 1:1-2 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.
Meditating on God’s Word: 2 Samuel 21:15 Once again there was a battle between the Philistines and Israel. David went down with his men to fight against the Philistines, and he became exhausted.
Praying God’s Word: “Lord, help us to grow old with your grace. In an age of injections, implants, and obsession with the older generation trying to remain “forever young” help us to realize when it is time to step from the battlefield and become a sage. We thank you for including examples of Godly men and women who followed you even as their bodies began to suffer exhaustion and fail them. Help us not conform to the pattern of this world but to be transformed by renewing our minds. Amen.”
