Reading God’s Word: Matthew 20:29-21:17; Psalm 20

Memorizing God’s Word: Lamentations 3:22-23 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Meditating on God’s Word: Psalm 20:6-7 Now this I know: The Lord gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

Praying God’s Word: “Lord, the world tells us that self-confidence is the foundation for all great success and achievement.  That if we believe in ourselves and our own abilities, we can accomplish more than we could ever dream. But as followers of Christ, we know that is not sustainable and only leads to our own self-destruction and ultimately, death. Help me, daily, to set aside my beliefs that I can do things on my own. Would I take on the confidence David had in this Psalm, knowing that it is only through you I can be victorious and it is only in your name that I can place my full confidence and trust.  Amen”
