Reading God’s Word: Esther 1-2:18, Psalm 93

Memorizing God’s Word: 2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”  Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Meditating on God’s Word: Psalm 93:5 Your statutes, Lord, stand firm;  holiness adorns your house for endless days.  Psalm 93:5 (NLT) Your royal laws cannot be changed.  Your reign, O Lord, is holy forever and ever.

Praying God’s Word:  In today’s Esther passage we read that “the Laws of the Persians and Medes could never be repealed.”  In Psalm 93:5 we read God’s “statues / royal laws stand firm.”  But what a contrast between the results of the laws.  The laws of that Medes & Persians resulted in cruelty, sensual desire, murder, and capricious decisions.  God’s statues result in His love, glory, and providence being eternally holy.  Thank you, Lord, for the comfort of knowing you are always in control to accomplish your purposes.  Amen
