Reading God’s Word: Hebrews 9:1-10:18; Psalm 127

Memorizing God’s Word: For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

Meditating on God’s Word: Hebrews 9:23–24 (LSB)For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Praying God’s Word: “Father, thank You for the once-for-all-time sacrifice of Christ on our behalf. One of the things evident in the Old Testament is the blood of the sacrifices could never take away sins. It could only temporarily cover them. In Christ, however, He sacrificed His own blood once for all. His final sacrifice not only covered our sins, but it also eternally removed them. Thank you, Father, for sending Your Son as the final sacrifice, and thank you Jesus for offering Yourself as the Lamb of God that brings eternal forgiveness for our sins. Amen.”
