Reading God’s Word: Matthew 14:13-36; Psalm 17:1-7
Memorizing God’s Word: Isaiah 53:6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Meditating on God’s Word: Matthew 14:30-31 (ESV) But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
Praying God’s Word: “Lord, I often wonder what I would have done in this situation. Would I even have the courage to step out of the boat? The disciples just witnessed over 5,000 people being fed with only 5 loaves and 2 fish and then saw you walking across the water, and yet Peter was the only one to step out. Give me that type of boldness, but also the strength to keep my eyes on you and not my surroundings. Amen.”
