Reading God’s Word: Acts 27:21-44; Psalm 118:24-29

Memorizing God’s Word:  Romans 5:8, But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Meditating on God’s Word: Psalm 118:24-25 (ESV) This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.  Save us, we pray, O Lord, we pray, give us success!  Acts 27:41 But the ship struck a sandbar and ran aground. The bow stuck fast and would not move, and the stern was broken to pieces by the pounding of the surf. 

Praying God’s Word:  Lord, what a contrast between our two readings today.  In Psalms we are rejoicing and being happy in the day you made.  In Acts there is a ship broken apart on a shoul with some people swimming to shore and others holding onto planks.  Oh Holy Spirit, thank you that you are always with me; in the good times and the depths of life.  Thank you for your everlasting love.
