Reading God’s Word: Luke 8:22-39; Psalm 55:16-23

Memorizing God’s Word:  Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Meditating on God’s Word: Luke 8:37-39 Then all the people of the region of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to leave them, because they were overcome with fear. So he got into the boat and left. The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, “Return home and tell how much God has done for you.”  So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him.

Praying God’s Word:  What different examples of responses to a man being freed of demons and sin.  Most of the people were seized with great fear after being confronted with the power of demons.  They wanted life to go back to normal vs. experiencing the powerful battle between what demons (evil) do and the healing, life-changing (good) Jesus does. The freed man wanted to follow Jesus as a disciple, but Jesus told him to return to his home and tell the great things God had done.  Lord, help me realize the Importance of telling my family and community what you have done for me.  Amen
