Reading God’s Word: Exodus 15:1-21; Psalm 39

Memorizing God’s Word: Psalm 40:4 Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.

Meditating on God’s Word: Exodus 15:2 (ESV) The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

Praying God’s Word: “God, as I read the very first song of Scripture today, I find a song that my heart is still singing. You took your people from certain death, and gave them miraculous new life. Me too! You fought and defeated an enemy where any other warrior would have been hopeless. Me too! You made a way where anyone else would’ve looked and said impossible. Me too! And not only is this the song at the beginning of Scripture, it’s the song at the end (Rev 15:3). This is the song of your people, and I’ll sing it at the top of my lungs. ‘This is my God! And I will praise him!’ In your mighty and powerful name, amen.”
