Reading God’s Word: James 1:19-2:13, Psalm 137:1-9
Memorizing God’s Word: Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,
Meditating on God’s Word: James 1:19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry
Praying God’s Word: “Lord, we don’t like to go slow. We want everything right now including the need to share our words, our opinions. We race to our keyboards to type out typhoons of hate. We run to the breakroom to rant about our rage. And we do it fast. We do it now. God forgive us. Forgive me. In Jesus name slow us down. Let us listen. Let us sit at your feet and HEAR YOU. Jesus, there are things to be angry about. I pray our anger only comes from things that anger you. I pray we do it slowly. Amen.”
