Reading God’s Word: Jonah; Psalm 109

Memorizing God’s Word: Mark 12:30-31, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

Meditating on God’s Word: Jonah 4:9 But God said to Jonah, “Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?” “It is,” he said. “And I’m so angry I wish I were dead.”

Praying God’s Word: “Lord, I see here in Scripture that Jonah was so unhappy that he didn’t get his own way. He didn’t understand the heart of God. I’m afraid that I’m sometimes like that, too. Please help me to see things as you do. I need to have the mind of Christ, and when faced with opportunities and situations, ask myself: what would Jesus think, what would Jesus say, what would Jesus do. Forgive me. Amen.”
