Reading God’s Word: 2 Corinthians 6:1-7:4, Psalm 116:1-8
Memorizing God’s Word: 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
Meditating on God’s Word: Psalm 116:1-7: I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live. The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came over me; I was overcome by distress and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the Lord: “Lord, save me!” The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. The Lord protects the unwary; when I was brought low, he saved me. Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.
Praying God’s Word: “Lord, thank you for hearing my voice—for hearing my cries for mercy. Because you listen when I cry out, I will call on you for as long as I live. Lord you know that I was dead. You saw me in my fallenness as a rebel before you. I lived how I saw fit. I pursued my desires, and all they gave me in return was distress and heartbreak. But in your perfect timing, your Spirit brought me to my senses and I cried out for you to save me. You heard me. You answered my cries for mercy. I am in awe of you Father because you are both gracious and righteous. You are so full of compassion. You protect me when I’m unaware of the dangers around me. Your Spirit ministers to me when I am tempted to despair. Don’t let me forget your goodness my God. Lead me to rest in you. Amen.”
