Reading God’s Word: Isaiah 21-23

Advent Reading: Luke 2:15-20

Memorizing God’s Word: Isaiah 40:31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary,  they will walk and not be faint.

Meditating on God’s Word: Luke 2:19 (LSB) But Mary was treasuring all these things, pondering them in her heart.

Praying God’s Word: “Father, it must have been hard for Mary and Joseph to endure the social stigma surrounding the events of Jesus’ birth. Explaining the virgin birth seemed too far-fetched, no one believed their story, and perhaps they sometimes questioned things themselves. It is at this moment that You send a group of lowly shepherds to the young family with the news they heard from the angels on the hillside about the young Child. This message had to be a comfort to Mary and Joseph that everything they had socially endured was according to Your divine plan and that this young Child was indeed the long-awaited Messiah. Amen.”
