Reading God’s Word: Romans 12-13; Psalm 54

Memorizing God’s Word: Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

Meditating on God’s Word: Romans 12:18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.  Romans 13:1  Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.

Praying God’s Word:  Lord, remind me of these verses when I want to express my political view or inject a partisan jab. Instead give me the nudge to say that you are the only real answer/solution.  Drive into my mind that no matter which politician wins, they only got that authority because you gave it.  Every time I hear a political ad, remind me that my job is to live at peace with everyone.
