Reading God’s Word: Matthew 20:1-16; Psalm 44:17-26

Memorizing God’s Word: Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Meditating on God’s Word: Matthew 20:15 (LSB)  Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with what is my own? Or is your eye envious because I am generous?

Praying God’s Word “Father, we live in a world that is performance-based, and as a result, we think that sometimes we deserve much more than you have graciously given us. In today’s meditation, we are introduced to a landowner whose generosity offended those who thought they should receive more. Help us to remember that none of us deserve any good thing from Your hand and that everything we have is a gift of grace. Please help us be content with the portion you have granted us and not envy others who may have more.  Amen.”
