Reading God’s Word: John 18:15-18; Psalm 73:1-14
Advent Reading: Day (10) Luke1:5-17
Memorizing God’s Word: Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Meditating on God’s Word: Psalm 73:12-14 This is what the wicked are like— always free of care, they go on amassing wealth. Surely in vain I have kept my heart pure and have washed my hands in innocence. All day long I have been afflicted, and every morning brings new punishments.
Praying God’s Word: Lord, just like the Psalmist Asaph, I admit that at times, I envy the ungodly in their prosperity, wealth, and power. Their eyes sparkle because all is going well. I question the value of my own effort in becoming like Christ. God, it seems like you let the wicked get away with their wickedness, while my sanctification process includes turmoil and mental anguish. But then, when I enter into prayer and fellowship with you and other believers I experience God’s peace and assurance that you are just and in control.
