Reading God’s Word: John 4:4-26; Psalm 78:32-39
Memorizing God’s Word: John 3:16, For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Meditating on God’s Word: John 4:13-14, Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.
Praying God’s Word: “Lord, you are not talking about physical thirst, but rather spiritual thirst. The Samaritan woman may have been confused and sometimes we are also. What exactly do you mean? How does this apply directly to me? What am I missing? The closer we walk with you, the more we will know you. Learning from you and listening to you. Not relying on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). Some things we simply will not understand, no matter how hard we try. I hunger and thirst for you, Lord, and with assurance I know you will fill me with the springs of life (Matthew 5:6). Amen.”
