Meditating on God’s Word: Psalm 42:5 Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.

Praying God’s Word: Lord, for anyone with a downcast soul today, anyone with turmoil inside, may they hear from your Holy Spirit, straight out of your Word: There is hope! There is hope! There is hope! David had to repeat it multiple times, and Holy Spirit, would you do the same in our hearts. We may have ample reason for a downcast soul, but our reason for hope surpasses all others. We have you! And despair cannot linger in your presence! When we are buried under discouragement, tempted to give up on hope, help us to preach to our souls a hundred times, ‘Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God!’ Amen.”
