Reading God’s Word: Matthew 27:57-61; Psalm 69:19-36

Memorizing God’s Word: Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Meditating on God’s Word: Psalm 69:19,21 You know how I am scorned, disgraced and shamed; all my enemies are before you…they gave me vinegar for my thirst.

Praying God’s Word: “Lord Jesus, I am again amazed at how the Holy Spirit used the ancient words of David, this time penned in Psalm 69, to give insight into the cross. The scorn, the shame you endured. The detail down to the vinegar offered in Matthew 27:48. The scorn from those you made who have “broken your heart.” But what David could not have known was how YOU took the punishment due them. You took the wrath due them. You did NOT charge their crimes against them but instead let them share in your salvation! And that includes me! Thank you Jesus for the cross! Thank you for your love! Thank you for your salvation offered to me!  Amen.”
