Reading God’s Word: Daniel 7-9; Psalm 84

Memorizing God’s Word: Ephesians 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

Meditating on God’s Word: Daniel 9:18 (LSB)O my God, incline Your ear and listen! Open Your eyes and see our desolations and the city which is called by Your name; for we are not presenting our supplications before You on account of any righteousness of our own, but on account of Your abundant compassion.

Praying God’s Word: “Father, Daniel reminds us in our meditation today that it is not our righteousness which causes You to hear us, but rather it is Your compassion. We deserve nothing from Your hand but Your wrath against our sin, but because of Your compassion You provided a way back to You in the person of Your Son. Thank you for being a compassionate God who shows us grace and mercy. Amen.”
