Reading God’s Word: Exodus 10:1-11:10; Psalm 36

Memorizing God’s Word: Psalm 40:4 Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.

Meditating on God’s Word: Exodus 10:3 “This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, so that they may worship me.’”

Praying God’s Word: “O Lord, examine my heart today. Because this question isn’t unique to Egyptian rulers, it’s a question you would ask anyone: How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? The same pride I see in Pharaoh, is the same pride I see in myself. It’s what creates a haughty spirit, and self-reliance instead of God-reliance. And just like you say in Proverbs, it was pride that went before Pharaoh’s destruction. May it not be so in my life, O Lord. Examine my heart today, make it tender and trusting. In your name, Amen.”
